EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
Yuvashakti Model School, Sec-3, Rohini Delhi celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April, 2019 during the school assembly. The celebration commenced with the presentation of potted plants to the principal sir , headmaster sir and both the wing incharges Ms. Meena puri Mam and Ms. Neena Bhardwaj Mam. Thereafter, a Student of class V recited a poem on the topic – “Make Earth Green” which was further continued by a speech. The students of class X also performed a small skit giving an inspirational message to save Earth. The celebration ended with an oath to save the Earth and save mankind.
WORKSHOP ON CHOCHOS – "MILK KA SOLID DOST"
Yuvashakti Model School, Sec-3, Rohini, Delhi organized a workshop on Chochos –‘Milk ka Solid Dost’ on 12th April, 2019 for the students of class II to IV. The workshop commenced with the introduction about the product ‘Chochos’ and there was an active interaction between the students and the volunteers. The workshop created awareness among the students regarding the benefits of milk and the nutrients found in ‘Chochos’. At the end, The students were given ‘Chochos with milk’ to make them familiar with the product.
ECO-CLUB VAN MAHOTSAV
Yuvashakti Model School, Sector-3 Rohini Delhi-85 celebrated Van Mahotsav a week long festival of tree plantation in the school campus.
The celebration was on ideal opportunity to instill the value of social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees and forest.
The programme was started under the guidance of Eco-Club Incharge Ms Neeraj Deewan and her associates Ms. Reena Gaba, Ms. Radha Rani Pathak, Ms. Rekha Rastogi and Ms. Neha Butola. The students of IX performed dance to give a message on save forest.’
The students of the following classes III, IV and VII took part in the fancy dress and gave the message on the topic of Importance of trees.’
The closing ceremony of this festival, the students of class X participated in plantation programme wherein different types of medicinal plants Aloe Vera, Tulsi, Jamun etc were Planted by the school Principal Mr. Harinder Kumar, Head Master Mr. Lalit Vikram Sheetal and other dignitaries. Each students spoke about the medicinal values of the particular plant that was planted. It was an educative and informative session for the students.
After the plantation, Eco Club organized exhibition in school auditorium from the following classes VI-VII.
The topic covered in the Exhibition were as
- Save Forest
- Swachh Bharat
- Rain Water Harvesting
- Anti Pollution by using the concept of 3R’s
- Acid Rain
- Paper Clothes Bags
Each model had an Eco-friendly message like “save Water”, “Save Forest” etc. Message on the model left everyone to ponder over and raised awareness about the benefits of plantation.
Van Mohotsav week came up to be a great success. The events helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and human.
MOCK FIRE DRILL
On 25th July 2018 (Wednesday) Yuvashakti Model School, Sector-3, Rohini, organised a Mock Drill for the students of classes VI to XII to make them aware of ‘Fire and its hazards’. It was carried out in association with personnel from Delhi Fire Services and staff of Delhi Police.
Volunteers from Delhi Police gave the talk about types of fire, fire extinguishers, how to be calm and composed during any fire outset.
Representatives from Delhi Fire Service gave live demonstration of ways and methods used by them to put off fire by sprinkling water from their brigade to tell about the range/area covered, use of fire extinguisher also detailed.
It was a very helpful activity for the students which made them aware and cautions about many queries related to fire.
WORKSHOP ON STRESS MANAGEMENT
“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.”
To overcome stress and anxiety a workshop on Stress Management was organized at Yuvashakti Model School Sector -3, Rohini on 28th June 2019.
All the teachers of the school participated in the workshop. The workshop addressed by Mr. Kunal Sikri, aimed to guide the teachers on how to relieve themselves from stress.
In his addressing speech he told that anxiety is a part of human nature but it’s important to know how to overcome it. He also explained the teachers about the types of stress faced by them. He also emphasized on the stress relaxation therapy that could be followed by them and different stress management techniques.
The interactive session was followed with the presentation, through which the teachers explored different stages of stress. The workshop ended with light refreshment.
